Research and engineering

Matter State Research is an independent research and engineering company studying intelligence, reasoning, and computational systems. We develop models, software, and tools to investigate foundational questions and put the results to use.

We work across research and engineering. Building software exposes questions that experiments alone can miss. Investigating those questions informs what we build next. Needle is a decision model in development. Its inference API is not yet available.

How we work

The Needle-1.0 report records the architecture, experiments, and limitations, including failed approaches. Checkpoint measurements and supporting records make the evidence inspectable. We distinguish experimental results from proposed services and fixed illustrations.
